I just watched Mix recently and found out that the top 10 for today was kind of reasonable.
Except for the fact that most of it are foreign artists, but at least they're good.
The foreign songs are concentrated in the 5-1 spot, except for a certain top one that has been there for 8 days:
Masarap Dito by Project 1
As far as I know Project 1 is a collaboration of different band members, the song was also used in Coke's latest ad campaign and it was also featured in Pinoy Big Brother Teen Edition Plus in ABS-CBN.
Is it really weird that the lyrics have small implications of Coke and Myx is actually a sister company of ABS-CBN?
Even if it's text voted, I can't help but to wonder... hmmmm.
Even if there was no Survey Scandal between GMA7 and ABS-CBN, I still cannot help but wonder if the voters were really sensible enough to vote a noypi song if the songs on 2-6 were foreign artists.
Also, as far as I have remembered, ads from Coke with some tag line like "Sarap ng Buhay Coke" or something similar were aired before this music video was made.
Also, as far as I've seen from a blog post (and from Toni Gonzaga in their PBBTEP premier night) that there was actually a rift that the bands that the members of Project One came from will actually be disbanded. Project One members said it was false.... Sensationalism anyone?
The thing that really expresses itself will be rarely found in the media mainstream, especially if it defies the movers and shakers. Even news writing/news casting gets affected by it.
Even if there was no news that this was commissioned, do you actually think that the band members would just put their money on this production? Collaborate with other band members if they can make their own as a band? Collaborate with different bands as bands instead?
If it was really put on good intentions, it wasn't really put on good interventions.
Is world really turning over to the investors and businessmen? I think so.
But not to fret, there are things that are solely working for freedom, love, and something that's not dominant like youtube, blogger, and other things that makes a regular shmoe popular and heard.
Mainstream media is very hard to beat because they have the tools and resources to do stuff, thanks to sponsors.
Even fashion has fallen. CEO's would think twice in hiring a superstar designer and insists on their assistants instead. That's why Tom Ford created his own brand.
